About Yorkshire Sun Society
The grounds and club are owned and run by the members for the practice of naturism, sunbathing and recreation where nudity is both desired and encouraged. There is a rich variety of wildlife which share these grounds with us, including deer, rabbits, stoats, pheasants and owls to name but a few.
Many members have caravans or chalets in clearings within the grounds and for visitors we have areas set aside for the pitching of tents, a small number of hardstands with or without electric hook ups for those with caravans or motor homes, and we have one static caravan reserved for hire.
There is a clubhouse containing a bar and with a seperate sizeable kitchen. The bar has few overheads which means the prices are modest. We have a TV lounge, small library and WiFi Internet running on the mobile phone networks. We also have a covered, heated, swimming pool, jacuzzi and a sauna cabin, and of course, we have toilets, wash basins and showers. Outside the clubhouse there is a sunbathing lawn with a brick built BBQ, but you can sunbathe almost anywhere.
For those who like a bit of keeping fit we have a miniten court (mini tennis) and an area for informal volleyball. For the less energetic there are 4 petanque (boules) courts and there are numerous woodland walks. Also available is a pool table, darts board and many other indoor games.
The club has an active social life, particularly at weekends. There is often a Saturday night communal meal and this is frequently followed by other social activities, for example disco. Visitors are welcome to join in with all events; a current favourite is pool volleyball in our indoor pool at the weekend, as you can see in this short video:
